Arrival at Philmont

Upon arrival at Philmont the “newbies” typically drive under the above pictured gateway on their way to the Welcome Center.  It’s usually an impressive site with blownout duct taped boots from previous treks, providing a glimpse of what’s to come.  Unfortunately the gateway had been clipped by a bus five days earlier, bringing it to the ground.
